Studio Komorebi believes in a refined and holistic approach to creating spaces - crafting to serve the user rather than driven by trends. We aim to create timeless spaces and designs that capture the everyday beauty of objects, with a simplicity that carries bigger ideas.

Pooja Chalishazar, our founder and creative director is an interior architect with a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the Glasgow School of Art. Following on, she worked in Japan for three years on a variety of hospitality projects at award-winning firm Kengo Kuma & Associates and later Puddle Inc.

    Their professionalism, creativity, patience, ability to listen to ideas and present multiple concepts in a short turnaround time has impressed me most. Lead designer Pooja was a joy to work with and her understanding, commitmemt, style and panache ensured we received exactly what we wanted. Our engagement was to furnish our high end project's show apartment - with a common theme across the property but multiple sub concepts within to demonstrate to our buyers the various options to furnish a 5,000 square feet luxury apartment.

    Pooja did not disappoint! Her eye for detail, finer matters and flexibility meant we were on the same page very quickly and within a few iterations we had the final product in design. Pooja proceeded to choose and procure all the required furniture, and arranged for final delivery to our show apartment. Furthermore she gave her personal time in setting everything up physically and taking time to personally place and finalise all furnishings...always with a smile and pleasant persona! Her input and time were well and above our expectations.

    Pooja was nothing short of incredible. After 2+ years of embracing a nomadic life and living out of a suitcase, I was very set on creating the perfect home. It was my first time working with an interior designer, and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience.

    Pooja was a great thought partner — helping me visualize my dream home with mock-ups, accommodating my wishes via Pinterest mood boards, being patient with any last minute changes I had before or during the process, and also unafraid to share her opinion or make recommendations when I wasn’t being decisive. She went above and beyond the scope we had originally drafted, and was very generous with her time to ensure we found the perfect pieces.
